Prior to returning to the Capital District I spent nearly six years as the Chief Operating Officer of the world-renowned National Institute for Trial Advocacy (NITA) when it was an institute of The Notre Dame Law School. 

While at NITA, and later with LexisNexis, I managed, negotiated, and enforced contracts and copyrights with and for countless providers of print, digital, audio, and video content.   Using this background, along with my experience and contacts as a Hollywood screenwriter and Nashville songwriter, I have been representing media companies, actors, musicians, and writers in contract, copyright and a variety of related matters.

I also served as a NITA faculty member for several years, teaching trial skills to attorneys throughout the nation, in places such as Phoenix, AZ; Tucson, AZ; Oakland, CA; Austin, TX; Albuquerque, NM; Hayward, CA; Olympia, WA; and Clarksville (Nashville-area), TN.

I have also lectured to Capital District law school and medical school classes on trial skills, child abuse, and other legal issues, and have also taught procedure and evidence at several of police training academies.  Additionally, I am a past member of the Editorial Board of Dr. Michael Welner's Forensic Echo, Journal of Behavioral and Forensic Sciences in the Court.

I started my career as an Assistant District Attorney for Albany County where I served in the Major Offense Prosecution Bureau and The Felony Trial Bureau. I have also served as faculty for the New York State Basic Prosecutors Training Program. I regularly teach practice skills for the Appellate Division, Third Department, Training Program for Attorneys for Children and and the New York Public Welfare Attorneys.

Finally, I have worked as a civil litigator and criminal defense lawyer with private firms in Albany, and have served as an Acquisitions Editor, Product Group Manager, and Director of Industry Relations and Litigation Services at LexisNexis.
